Community Engagement

In the Community

You love national parks like we do. Please join us as we work to ensure all Americans know about these important places, including the lesser-known yet truly amazing and important sites within the national park system. WNPA engages with communities to shine a light on these American treasures and let all citizens know they are welcome in their national parks. After all–parks belong to all of us.

We need to continue bringing the parks to the people.

Major Events

We plan and participate in many events. Our biggest venue for meeting the public is the annual Tucson Festival of Books, where we run the National Parks Pavilion for 140,000 attendees.

WNPA Supports Communities

Our team volunteers to better our communities. An annual holiday drive collects books for partner non-profit organization Literacy Connects. Several employees took a critical census of saguaros at Saguaro National Park to help preserve this stately cactus.

Community Partnerships

We work with like-minded conservation, environmental education, and natural and historic preservation organizations working together to amplify ways to take care of our public lands. Focusing on educating young people, we work to inspire them to conserve and protect these special places so that future generations can enjoy them as much as we do now.
